Vietnamese BBQ Pork Sandwich (Banh Mi)

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 Vietnamese baguette Banh Mi bread loaf
  • Cha Lua, thinly sliced
  • Grilled BBQ pork, thinly sliced
  • Cucumber, thinly sliced
  • Cilantro, cleaned
  • Maggi seasoning sauce
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Black pepper
  • Jalapeno pepper, thinly sliced
  • Carrots and Daikon pickles

DIRECTIONS

    Make Vietnamese mayonnaise per instructions in "Sauces" section of La Cuisine De Chau cookbook.

    Make carrots & daikon pickles per instructions in "Side Dishes" section of La Cuisine De Chau cookbook.

    To assemble each Banh Mi, toast bread in toaster. Slice baguette along the side but not all the way through. Remove some of inside baguette filling. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of baguette. Generously add sliced BBQ pork and cha lua, sliced cucumber, carrots & daikon pickles, sliced jalapeno pepper, 3-4 stems of cilantro. Sprinkle Maggi seasoning sauce on each side. Top off with sprinkle of black pepper.
