INGREDIENTS
- 1 roll of Phyllo dough (2 rolls of 20 sheets per boxes)
- 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- Optional: simple syrup glaze: 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water
DIRECTIONS
- Remove one roll of 20 sheets phyllo dough from freezer and follow package directions to thaw dough – approx 4 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In oblong pan, scrunch or crinkle Phyllo dough, 2 sheets at a time; bake for 10 minutes.
- Pour melted butter over phyllo; bake again for 10 minutes.
- Wisk milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla; pour over Phyllo dough. Bake 30-40 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
- Make optional simple syrup glaze by heating water and 1/4 cup sugar until sugar is fully dissolved. Cool while Phyllo is baking.
- Pour or brush glaze onto Phyllo dough.
