INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb. ziti noodles
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 gloves fresh garlic, diced
- 1 sweet onion, chopped
- 32 oz. spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
- Optional: 1 lb ground Italian sweet sausage
- Optional: 1 lb ground turkey
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook noodles al dente in 10 cups of water, and drain once cooked. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large frying pan. Add diced fresh garlic and onion and cook until golden brown.
- If using optional meats, add to frying pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until gold brown. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Spoon spaghetti sauce into oblong pan in a thin layer. Add half of noodles and spoon more spaghetti sauce over the noodles. Add half of the cooked sweet sausage and ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Layer Mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Repeat above with second layer.
- Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and serve.
