Focaccia Bread

INGREDIENTS
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 2/3 cups warm water (120 Deg F - 130 Deg F)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Optional: fresh sliced garlic cloves, olives, fresh rosemary sprigs

DIRECTIONS

    In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, kosher salt and yeast. Stir in the warm water until mixture is moistened (dough will be sticky and soft). Cover bowl loosely with plastic wrap. Let stand at room temperature for 2 hrs.

    Lightly coat a 15x10-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and drizzle with 2 tbsp of olive oil. Stir remaining 1 cup flour into dough with a fork. Using a rubber spatula coated with cooking spray, gently spread dough in prepared baking pan. Cover with greased plastic wrap. Let rise at room temperature until puffy (1 1/2 to 2 hours).

    Preheat oven to 400 Deg F. Poke top of dough all over with your fingers to create a dimpled surface. Optional, add olives, garlic and/or rosemary. Drizzle remaining 2 tbsp oil over dough. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Bake 30 minutes or until golden. Let bread cool before serving.
